I seriously recommend these guys for clothing, covering all angles / shapes / sizes etc.

No payback for me... just gave me whole new wardrobe...

I always found sports jackets a bit too big, starting at chest 40 inch, whereas I'm a 38 but these are brilliant... I must have 10 of them, most great fits. It must be same on larger side.

Nah, these are great, Harris tweed etc - but I know what you mean. 15 years ago you'd pay £150 for Remus Uomo jackets that frankly looked & felt like crap.

On subject of shoes, for British audience you can't beat Barkers for classy shoes that last.

Anatomic & Co are excellent for a 'soft shoe'.

Don't know who the best are for winter water-proof shoes, I wouldn't mind advice here.

Wow! They certainly look the part for a winter shoe. Thanks! Of course if I go to Eastern | Northern Europe in November I could always bring these! Whether I'd get into a restaurant is another thing!

Brands don't matter, but knowing how to dress can make a huge difference in your social life. Not knowing how to dress can immediately disqualify you from even being considered for dating, sex, etc., specially if you don't have a charismatic personality to compensate for you lack of sense of fashion.

For guys it is super easy because all we really need is a pair of pants, a shirt, some clean shoes, and a jacket can go a long way too.

The difference is in the cut, so as long as it doesn't look baggy or outdated you are good to go.

So true. If you have good body proportions too (which thankfully I have) it also allows the classic 1930's style of dress, sports jacket, classic trousers, & maybe waistcoat... it suits me because I love the whole film noir stuff etc. That company I recommended, Brook Taverner have several cuts of jacket, such as slim fit / regular etc & I'd really recommend them particularly for those with a slighter build. Their 38 inch jackets fit me like a glove, I just wish they'd been around 20 - 30 years ago when I was a young man. Now its my Autumn but its still nice to draw admiring glances, comments, & even come-on's from much younger ladies at 52 years of age, but kind of sad too since I've grasped my mortality & aspiring to the next life is what stirs my soul, not sensual throwaway self-gratification.

About builds, I marvel at the fantastic body proportions so many Polish & Baltic guys have as opposed to those from UK. I don't know, but so many Scots | English | Irish | Welsh, have torsos too long for their little short legs, heads too big for their torsos etc... I dunno what its like in France or the United States or other places, or why, because I thought pestilence, famine etc were more commonplace there than in most places. So much in life is a mystery to me.

A good haircut can also go a long way.

But honestly you are better off just losing the weight to increase your lifespan to at least 76 years as opposed of 56.

Losing weight is easy, here are 8 easy steps:

1. Sleep well, aim for 8 hours at night time.

2. Just eat a shit ton of vegetables daily, specially all kinds of cruciferous, and greens. You will eat so much fiber that you won't have space for the bad foods.

3. Avoid sweet beverages at all costs, they are just worst enemy.

4. Raise your metabolism with a couple of 10 minutes interval runs per day. You can also do body weight exercises 3 times per week.

5. Eat more fish, particularly wild salmon to be more sharp in your metabolism.

6. Avoid bad oils, which is pretty much every cooking oil out there. Instead just use extra virgin olive oil for everything.

7. Avoid the big four, gluten, diary, soy, added sugar

8. Meditate so your mind doesn't become the bitch of your body.

Bonus, watch out for vitamins and minerals deficiencies, always keep those in check.

The healthier you are, the better you'll feel. The better you feel, the better you'll look.

It is important to clarify that wasn't my taste, I was just answering what he was asking for in terms of big guys.

Now to follow on your input about more formal wear, things have changed there too, and again, the differences are in the cut, but these things keep evolving.

Words do make a difference in meaning. I feel not giving a fuck doesn't solve the problem of lack of passion.

The coolness comes from having passion about what you are putting forth.

There is a lot of value in no giving a fuck about giving yourself permission to do things you want to do, but the pulling it off and coolness definitely come from your level of passion for it.

There are many homeless people that clearly don't give a fuck about anything, but that doesn't make them cool. So I feel the wording is important there.

Myself I've let go a bit the past half decade, & I realise I face two similar but also different challenges: To get fit & to get back in shape. Not the same thing.

The shape thing is interesting - just gets harder when you hit 45; & even in porn you have guys who I'm sure will 'high-five' you here... Rocco, Yann Scott, Neoo, Franco Rocaforte... right back to Roberto Malone.

For what you are talking about his weight, it sounds like the guy needs to do major changes in his routine to have a better quality of life, and longer. The 8 steps I mentioned are the ones that can help with that.

However, in the meantime, a little bit of effort doesn't hurt, shaving off a beard barbae isn't hard, shaving off the neck isn't hard, getting a clean hair cut isn't hard, wearing clean shoes and clean clothes isn't hard. Those cuts still work for heavier people. They just need to put the effort to do better for themselves and their overall well being, just for self respect alone.

For sloppy men the solution is to not be sloppy, they need to have some self respect, like I said, a little bit of maintenance isn't hard at all, getting a haircut isn't hard, shaving a neck beard isn't hard, wearing clean clothes and clean shoes isn't hard. Showering with soap and shampoo isn't hard. These things are easy.

If they really want to change they can do the 8 steps I mentioned. If they have a problem with their chin it is probably in their head, and they need to get over it, and if they have some loose skin then water fasting and gym can help with that. Age is not an excuse either. They just need some self love.

To my fellow fat fucks, who are more interested in hiding their appearance than accentuating it: Canvas pants & t-shirt, preferably with pocket (carhartt, Ben Davis, Dickies... Any work wear manufacturer that produces sturdy, long-lasting clothing will do).

Congratulations. You now look, at the very least, like someone who has made an honest attempt at dressing well, and that's worth something.

Of course, you'll still hate how you look, because it's you. But while you'll never be (emotionally) comfortable in your own skin, I promise, you will be (physically) comfortable in your clothes, and that is its own reward. And because it's a sturdy outfit, you won't have to worry about ripping or tearing anything when you do something physical, like helping someone fix their bike chain, or getting a heavy bag of mulch down from the shelf for the cute girl at the hardware store.

I think what Starrio is getting at is that you can’t let the clothes wear you, you must wear the clothes. In other words have your own identity, confidence and let that personality dictate your style. A guy can look handsome just in a simple cheap t-shirt and jeans if he stands strong and can hold everyone’s attention with their presence and aura.

My style is predominantly casual. Uniqlo, TopShop or Zara. I like Zara they have a ton of jackets that really give off a good vibe about you. Uniqlo are very simplistic, good fabric with their tops. TopShop has a nice youthful selection. I think I got most of my Hawaiian shirts from there.

In terms of style I look at a guy like James Bay and he’s in control of his look.

honestly u dont even really need that many formal/dress/button up shirts, as long as u got a few for the appropriate occasions (e.g. job interviews, dinner dates, etc)

any basic jeans/chinos/tailored trousers + clean tees (think white/grey/black/olive/navy) or polos. stay away from too many graphic tees. the fit is really the key here, make sure you go to several different stores trying them on to find the best fitting ones. if u need to make alterations to your pants, its always worth it.

for shoes, if u like a more formal look, get some casual leather boots (doc martens, rm williams are some examples) or shoes like loafers (if you like that style).
obviously if u like more of a relaxed look or are a sneakerhead, then clean sneakers are a must. either way, you'll still need leathers for formal occasions. theres also an in-between of sorts with sneakers and formality.. think things like adidas stan smiths, converse chuck taylors and other 'designer-style' sneakers.
with shoes and pants u can mix and match, as long as you feel comfortable in your appearance when you wear them then thats all that matters.

but if you're just hanging out at a friends place, running errands around town or havin a bbq then imo being comfortable matters more. hoodie + sweatpant/gymshorts + sneaker combo works wonders here

i personally would stay away from wearing hats too often and focus instead on finding an amazing barber and using sunnies when u need to block the sun. for accessories i recommend a watch
