- He arrests, daunts and kills critics
- He annuls democratic institutions and election laws to prolong his tenure.
- He controls economy

So yes, he has pretty tight grip on Russia.

And no he is not a puppet of Oligarchs. They live in a symbionitc relationship.

Have you done any research on this topic, or do you seek all of your wisdom from a porn forum? Putin is like a mob boss. He has helped many of the oligarchs to acquire great wealth but that wealth is conditional on obedience to Putin because he has the power to have them jailed if they go against him, and he has done exactly this in the past.
