I don't follow series like this (I have no TV) but I saw at work this sequence, with beautiful lady forced walk naked through town... with woman monotonously crying 'Shame, Shame..." behind her.

I don't know what to make of it.

I don't think AGOT is pornographic.

That scene just depicts the humiliation of a powerful queen by a controlling church which is meddling in politics as usual.

Also, you might enjoy reading the books, which IMO are better than the TV adaptation.

Thanks. I just detect a layer of misogny in AGOT that doesn't quite seem right for prime-time television. Of course, were I a 14 year old boy it'd be like a porn paradise for me.

Well, the starting point for the fictional universe of AGOT is european medieval history which is massively misogynistic.

There is massive misogyny in GOT but that is one of the points; to show more accurate depiction of that era of human development that we experienced, and still do in some countries. However, the strong women end up dominating the TV show long term and so it balances out.

The show is gritty from many people's perspectives. But it does give some insight into middle ages European history and how familes and houses and nobility and royalty treated people with forced marriages, religious hypocrisy, abuse, murder, rape, etc etc.

What I want to know is who you caught watching that episode of GoT at work.

Nah, it was just showing freely in canteen on night-shift, about 4 AM. Straight up, scouts honour. Mind you one night I walked in & there was playing "Nude Nuns with Big Guns". Between countless reruns of "little house on the prairie" you do stumble in on the odd gem.

While I haven't actually watched this series, it's noteworthy that Sibel Kekilli who appears in it as a guest star has actually done porn scenes when she was younger, up to anal.

She's among the few who actually managed to achieve mainstream success after having starred in porn.
