How much data stored online is absolute garbage?

I'll bet 99 + %.

Most stuff in my email accounts be it work or personal is 99% unwarranted.

Time for a hero / heroine to come in, make him / herself a billionaire by inventing easy 'delete crap in my inbox' solution?

So just hit "delete all". You're welcome.

Seriously, you should think before deleting work emails. Can my bastard employer/co-worker/whatever later claim they told me something they didn't, or that they didn't when they did?

Also, everything you "delete" will still be on your employer's servers, and you may assume they probably have AI's or elves employed to mine your emails for incriminating evidence. It's like having your phone tapped, only easier for them to scan.

Cloud services have revolutionised the game. 15-20 years ago I managed email servers for companies & their mail servers would be on their premises & usually if my memory is correct, the entire mail server had only a 16GB storage capacity so users archiving their data was crucial - one would impose quotas on them. Every year you'd have to do a defragmentation procedure - hairy stuff when you're alone at 3AM in a companies IT room operating a fragile procedure. But It was the way it should be I think.

But with cloud services no one cares anymore. Just unlimited "all you can eat" data via third parties. And these third parties just grow & grow, putting immense strain on electrical grids & often water supplies. It can't go on like this, nor should it.

I know its off-topic, but data etc is crucial even to how this site operates, so I think its a valid if unusual thread?

I would say a very high number in the region of 90% of online stuff is absolute garbage.

But that is what the online platform is for, a chance for everyone to publish, write, make anything they want.

For me, the best part of online stuff is ofc porn and online shopping (usually for sex/porn related stuff!)

It is actually 99.99% according to the world wide institute of total bullshit.
