Would you wear a toupee?

Idiosyncratic request I know, but anyone here experience of one? I have little bald spot on crown that thankfully hasn't expanded in past 15 years, & I'm 50 now. I couldn't be arsed with hair transplant, though I could easily afford it (its so fucking fake, going by Elton John or Wayne Rooney)... I just kinda think theres something elegant about taking or leaving a well crafted toupee on a night out for a good looking man who actually doesn't care THAT much, in that he can afford to have piss taken out of him? Any experience here amongst members?

If it was good enough for Gary Cooper to carry, & he was far better looking than I am, its good enough for me.. any opinions from experience?

Toupees are ridiculous in today's world. Being bald doesn't harm your sex appeal or anything else unless you play the victim card for no reason.

Just keep it cut short. Combovers or shaggy hair looks like you are trying to cover your bald spot and looks ridiculous too.

Just my opinion.

No probs, thans for opinion, but I'm just referring to the little area on top of the crown, i.e. that I can't see when I look in the mirror.

True story, I only discovered I had bald patch when I went into petrol garage one day about 14 years ago, saw the camera, & said to myself, "that's not me surely, is it?", then shook my arm & leg to confirm. Then I said to myself, "oh,shit!". Thankfully it hasn't expanded.

Just resurrecting thread. I'm thinking of getting toupee made for occasional use. My fringe, Thank God is great, just this little bald spot in middle that needs covering & I'm 50 + so its not PG likely deteriorate further. What I can't understand is guys believing shaving head is cool but wearing little well crafted toupee isn't? I mean its all borne out of necessity?

Really, why should anyone ever be ashamed of little toupee covering a bald spot especially if they're open about it?

"Yeah I've toupee, so WTF - whats the problem?"

Any opinions?

I mean who fucking cares? And rightly so. Nothing sad about it. What you think?

But why? Why is it seen shameful to support a little spot on your head? I think a lot of its social pressure? Goodfellas anyone?

If you're handsome & you don't want shave your head, surely little toupee beats this any day?

Mad shit indeed.

But since someone brought thread back to life, I reckon a little toupee once worn by a guy like say, James Spader (Blacklist), who doesen't give a damn (like he could take it on or off, no issues), is far cooler than bald-spot guys shaving their heads & pretending that they only ever wanted shaved heads anyway.

And theres a lot of that goin' on.

Man, ask Giorgio Grandi or make a topic in his forum section: viewforum.php?f=101 or send them a message on social media.
He wears a wig since a year or so. Same one as David Perry. GG sports a new toupee since a couple of months.
Maybe he/they can tell you about his/their personal experiences and give buying tips. Wigs (and elevator shoes) are the male equivalents of breast implants for women.

Gary Numan wears one. You be the judge of whether it suits him.

My husband would just shave all his hair off, and do so quite regularly instead of worrying about any wigs...better to grow old gracefully.
