And the fact that there's fires burning out of control in Greece, Turkey, Algeria and there was a temperature of 48 point something degrees in Sicily the other day. For instance. And the floods various people have had to endure.

Why are people acting surprised? People have been saying this was going to happen for decades now.

There are still many places in the world without hurricanes, flooding and wildfires. People in those places will look at the news and be happy it is not happening at their home.

Yet!

Draught can very quickly cause interruptions in food supply.
The pandemic will be regarded a comparatively minor invent.
Climate migration will be huge!

It is not the end of the world. Humanity and planet Earth will continue to exist for many, many more hundreds of thousands of years....not so convinced about millions or billions of years...but certainly hundreds of thousands of years! No fear mongering

Some people say that too much intelligence is incompatible with life. Because the more clever humanity becomes the more clever ways humanity finds to commit collective murder-suicide.

That's what building of nuclear weapons is all about. You need to be really, really clever to do that. And now the world is going back to animosity between nuclear-armed countries, without anybody seriously protesting or trying to find peace. It's business as usual. And few people are even batting an eye. It's as if having a stockpile of nuclear weapons enough to destroy the whole world several times over is a perfectly normal thing to have. And being ready to use it is okay too.

People are clever with inanimate things, but they are stupid with each other. And this combination is lethal. Because clever scientists invent and develop weapons of mass destruction and then put them in the hands of some pretty stupid politicians.

You’re right. Intelligence is relative. We’re not as smart as we like to think we are, because if we were, we would never have allowed things to get this bad.

Human beings are certainly intelligent, but our real strength is adaptability. Unfortunately, it is also our greatest weakness. We are very good at improvising our way through problems, but not quite so good at planning long-term for those problems. It gets too abstract for our tiny monkey brains and we can’t seem to think far enough into the future.

The real problem is that the growth of our technology has vastly outpaced our capacity to live with it responsibly.

On a positive note. I put my hope to technology for solving many problems.

Vaccines will stop pandemics and we will be quicker both in development, production and distribution. Lethal viruses will become more frequent. Antivaxxers will learn the hard way.

Climate change will be mitigated with electrified transportation, which will be ubiquitous quicker than you think. Solar power will grow exponentially and not only replace current forms of power production but will be built out to at least four times current capacity, which will make carbon capture possible and power will be extremely cheap.

All heating will be electrified and heating/cooling will be powered by solar.

All this can happen very quickly if we let our politicians know that we do not support them when they want to keep the oil Baron's happy.

You wish, You believe in technology, but I am a tech guy, a scientist actually, I see no hope. Even if they reduce the emission to zero tomorrow, they can't reverse the change. Because it's becoming a feed back loop system, the output is driving the system, no input needed. Wildfires causes for more CO2, this CO2 increases the temperature again, to cause for more wildfires.
Also, the heat causes for the rise of water vapours from seas, water vapour is a grean house gas, means, it can hold more heat to increase the temperature again. Within 2030 the rise in temperature curve will pass 2℃ point. You can see the graph, it's an exponential graph(Y=a2^x function), not linear. They should have done something to control population 50yrs ago, only 1 billion people can live on earth peacefully, now it's too late, don't worry mother nature is going to do the job for you, she will control population, but she won't be picky like you people, everyone is equal in her eyes

Whats happening now is just a beginning... Hot season will become hottest, cold will become coldest and rainy will become rainiest, that's what is going to happen. reap what you sow... Happy end of the days.
