.

Every Gonzo.com trailer since Kassidy Bella on Feb 1 is 50fps. Before it was 29.97fps.

I have not purchased any recent scenes, so I don't know if the actual videos are really 50fps. Can someone confirm this?

They started shooting 4k from scene 704 onwards, so i guess after that it is 50 FPS. New scene today is 50fps and Lauras Crystal Scene is 50 FPS, but Billie Star/Mea Melone scene and Kate Gross DAP scene for example are still the old FPS as they didint shoot 4k yet then.

No, it's very smooth. Fantastic quality - are you sure your monitor can display 50 fps or more? I have a Benq 120 hz, and a 60 inch Seiki 144 hz TV - these videos, (wish they were 1080 though) look real good.

I'd prefer higher bitrate than fps personally -- vlc and others (or your tv) -- upsample to higher fps pretty well. They should go to 720p 6mbps or 1080p 8mbps minimum (I'd prefer 8 and 12). Esp for the money we are paying.

@crema, not me, vlc 2.0.7 on osx 10.9.5 is fine. Check "activity monitor" cpu usage. Your laptop may not be able to handle the workload?

Agreed, crappy 1080p with low bitrate looks much worse on today's large TVs. Framerate actually has nothing to do with picture clarity, but double framerate effectivelly doubles the filesize.
720p50 4.5Mbps imho even with really high quality h.264 compressor is just not enough. For online service I'd really consider starting using h.265 for 720p50 and higher. Let's say use h.264 for 540p25 which keeps filesize relatively small.
