Gonzo on the Oculus Quest 2 looks fantastic

I already have a nice setup in my room to watch LP videos, a 120 inches screen using a 120Hz 4K projector, and the LP videos look great.

However I recently got the Oculus Quest 2 to watch some VR porn, which is always great, and in order to do that I got an excellent application called Skybox VR.

Well, they happened to have an outstanding movie theater there where you can load up your own files to watch, while using your own bluetooth headphones.

You have three distance options to watch, and the closer you choose, the bigger the screen.

Since the device has sensors you can even stand up and walk around your sitting area, so it feels like you are actually there, as if you were standing in the middle of an empty theater in real life.

Well, let me tell you that since the device has a very good resolution, better than the Valve Index for example, all Gonzo and LP videos in general look fantastic.

In the Jupiter theater for example you can even manually make the screen bigger, and the giant pussies and anuses look simply incredible.

It is hard to describe, you actually have to experience it like all VR has always been, but to be honest I like watching LP videos this way more than the actual VR videos that are made specifically for VR.

Don't get me wrong, those are great too, but in all seriousness the Gonzo, IV, and GLab videos look amazing in this thing.

Because of the giant screen, it actually feels like you are watching the fucking live, then and there.

It just made my entire LP library more awesome, and that's the best way I can describe it.

I almost bought the quest 2 on launch day but decided to hold off. I recently got in to VR porn on the PSVR and altough it's a great experience the picture quality isn't great but I saw the potential.

If the Quest 2 is all you say I might have to go and get it.

Is there any pixelation or screen door effect on the quest 2 while watching LP or VR Porn?

I have PSVR as well so I can compare the two.

PSVR porn honestly was very impressive when I first saw it, but the app you use for it, Littlstar, somehow does not alllow you to load videos with too high of a resolution.

It basically meets you half way, and that's why games look great in PSVR, but no so much the videos.

And for non VR videos, the Littlstar theater graphics are not very good, it doesn't even have walls or a ceiling and the chairs look fake, not lighting, and you can't walk around, it definitely needed a lot of work.

If you don't use the app, if you only use the PlayStation built in video app, it wouldn't even show the porn in actual VR. Instead it will show you 360 videos, that are 360 degrees, or 180, but that are not actual VR.

The Oculus Quest 2 on the other hand not only allows to make a perimeter where you can freely walk inside the movie theater for 2D movies, it also has a much higher and noticeable resolution, reducing significantly the screen door effect, to the point that it is completely unnoticeable unless you really try to focus on it.

It is also completely wireless, so that annoying wire of PSVR is gone, and Skybox let's you load the highest resolution VR videos, which is something Littlstar didn't support. So the change is drastic.

That said, PSVR has OLED displays, so the blacks in PSVR look better, but with the improved resolution of the Quest 2, it really compensates for it in a big way.

The PS4 Pro has more processing power, so the games in PSVR will have better graphics than those on the Quest 2. But the Quest 2 will have better resolution, and you can use a Link cable with a powerful PC if you wish to have those kind of experiences. But for video the Quest 2 wins for the reasons mentioned.

I advise to set the lenses in the middle, right in the second option, because if you use the first or third option, you lose field of view, plus the clarity difference is not as big depending of the distance between your eyes.

I also want to mention that for VR in general I have noticed that people that use glasses never get to have the real experience because not only the screen door effect gets enhanced, they also lose a lot of field of view, so they no longer end up getting a VR experience, it is more like a 3D 360 video, so if someone use glasses I always recommend them to get contacts or they will lose massively on the actual experience.

Thanks for the detailed reply. You have pretty much convinced me to go for it. I will buy the Oculus Quest 2 mainly for the media rather than gaming.

As long as the image quality is far superior to the PSVR for porn then I'm in.

So my thoughts are VR is definitely still in the early days, as the options are scattered and that makes it hit or miss. Like if you get a video that's not for Oculus, it'll be blurry and when models are up way too close it doesn't come out right. And it's so so.
