Should we worry ???

As a Gonzo fan, should I be worrying about what seems to be the slow death of this studio ?

  1. Years earlier XXX cut production because he said whether he released daily scenes or 3 to 4 weekly scenes profits didn't change
  2. Pandemic slowed production of quality scenes
  3. Prices increased because XXX said Gonzo has been selling scenes at a loss
  4. Quality of male roster dropped from around 6 to 8 great males down to 2.
  5. Models roster reduced

and now 4 straight days without a Gonzo release. This is not the end of the world but seemed to only happen when all studios shut down for the holidays. It just makes you wonder what is going. I just renewed my membership for the excellent Isabella De Laa scene and now nothing. :( This is when being an impulse buyer sucks.

They had a 5 day streak before that.

Maybe they felt things were going back to normal and a covid outbreak happened during last week
preventing them from filming more?

A lot of countries are reporting spikes again. Maybe precautions are on high alert or something.

If we insist on worrying, there may be more important things in the world.

Probably not going to do you any good to worry about LP.
We may not like the changes at the site, but unless LP lose income they won't care.
It's how they choose to run their business and time will tell.

As customers we vote with our money.
A tiny minority will post here angrily saying they're taking their money elsewhere.
Maybe they will. Means nothing.
Maybe new customers will take their place, or not. We don't know.
And the silent majority will do what they want.

Nice of LP to provide us with a forum where we can complain to each other.
Maybe they read it sometimes.

Wow, I need to stop posting because this is the 2nd time my perspective has been way off. I think I'm a very data driven person but wow I would have never thought that Gonzo released 5 scenes in a row. After checking because of your post I saw that in the last 37 days Gonzo has had a 5, 6 and 4 day release streak. I would have checked if I was going to bet money on it but just based on my purchases it seemed that Gonzo was releasing less but it is more about the content being released no longer appealing to me. Getting a 90 day subscription and reloading at minimum once but often twice in that subscription period was a standard to me (easily spending 120+ tickets a month). Now with all the changes I mostly look at previously purchased content and I'm much more selective. It is a strange feeling. I feel like I should be buying something because I have for so long but other than purchasing 3 out of their last 20 released scenes, I have nothing else interesting enough to me to spend tickets on.

I guess this is what I have been doing, like you wrote and XXX has said several times customers preferences are told by scene profits. Not the complaining on the forum.

I started worrying way back.
Back, when I cancelled my membership. Heh.

I made a post about it.
Complaining about pee and the rate it was over taking everything else.

Was it june last year? I don't remember exactly.

Someone deleted my old account, apparently by accident. :o

I still had hope that they would change and they did,
but not in a way I wanted them to.

In december LP introduced TS and more pee.
Nicole Black and TS, in the same scene, I was like, "NO WAAAAAAY"

Then all the good male talent was gone.
Seemingly overnight, haha.

My theory is that the guys noticed XXX getting richer and richer,
buying companies and whatnot, so they asked for more money,
and he fired them. -"you're replaceable"-

You know what would be cool,
if they post the actors and models salaries, getting higher, as prices get higher.

For someone who cancelled because he no longer likes the content,
you do spend a lot of time here telling us about it. :D

Anyway, I like your contributions even if you are miserable.

Models are freelance. Their fees are variable scene by scene.
Maybe some fees are higher now. Especially for females.
Maybe some new models in Russia and Colombia get less. I don't know.

Studios can hire who they want at prevailing market rates.
Doesn't matter if the studio's ultimate owner is rich or poor.

Should models get higher fees from richer studios?
Can everyone at Amazon and Facebook demand pay rises because Bezos and Data are gazillionaires?
Doesn't work like that. Even star employees really are replaceable.
Only owners are irreplaceable, unless they sell out or go down with the ship.

Should models work for cheap if a studio owner pleads poverty?
Probably not, unless they can agree a cut of future sales revenue.

Models can choose to go wherever they're wanted, to earn what they can get.
Don't know if they'd all like their fees to be disclosed in public..

Some males seem to have returned for some scenes (Cristian Clay, Yanick Shaft, Mike).
And other males have been hired who are growing their fan bases.
Among those who actually are fans of the male models.

Meanwhile we're at 1 release in the last 7 days. After Isabella De Laa on August 3rd releases just stopped (except for the Lady Gang scene from 2 days ago).

Now that PornBox has a name and somewhat secure I think XXX is probably cutting his losses with Gonzo. He might be reducing risk by letting his studio die while capitalizing on taking a piece of the top of other studio profits without risking his own capital. Genius move as a businessman but tragic for Gonzo fans. Gonzo fans might be left hoping that N&F studio succeeds as a Gonzo replacement. The choices for fans of Gonzo style scenes are slim at best leaving fans to have to settle:

Giorgio Grandi - 0% Pussy infatuation is a non starter for some Gonzo fans like myself
Giorgio Lab - video quality, lighting and mini cock men are not appealing at all
InterracialVision / Kinky Sex - focus on unappealing tip fucking
Natasha Teen studio - although having beautiful girls, their scenes are way overpriced
N&F Studio - seem as the only hope for Gonzo fans if they can get their camera angles up to expected standards as they seem to be listening to our high prices complains

Man I agree with you, the other studios are not so appealing... Gonzo was the best as for lightning, camera angles and also the setting... lately the males are not so good. the old stuff with mike Angelo and Kid Jamaica were the times!
Anyway lets hope it's not the end of it.
Otherwise is there any other options around?

If offers are to be like tonight with only GIO from old LP studios selling an option I am starting to worry, indeed! :(

If you worry only now, let me remind you that some of us worried about Gonzo's management (producers, actors, content, places, etc.) more than a year ago...

What happens to this studio now is just the result of a chain of bad decisions, and a lack of decision-making in some aspects of their production, while there were some huge symptoms of a downfall of customers' interest. They have confused the need for responding to the repetitive expectations of an extreme minority of consumers, with the need for responding to the largest part of porn consumers.
Example : Why almost all of the AA scenes are top sellers ??? Is there pissing, or DAP tipfucking in those ones ??? NOOOOOOOOOOOO
It is all about the representativity of a sample

In my opinion, COVID19 is just the catalyst of an unavoidable reaction... And Gonzo isn't an isolated case, all the porn industry is in the same situation. For now, the only studio I don't worry about is Rocco's one...

Honestly, it would be a great decision to close Gonzo studio for some months in order to :

- Solve their production problems
- Find NEW ALPHA actors, who are clearly not in the porn industry at the moment
- Think about what kind of content could satisfy the largest part of consumers, and would make the greatest sales
- Find several places to shoot, to avoid the "déjà vu" feelings
- Think about their repetitive introductions
