It’s not a great look, but as a business they must have contingencies for this sort of thing. They’re dealing with people and they know some are very young and fickle.

Yes, i think this is quite bad behaviour. Even if she was having problems, then you don't book and make appointment where people are counting on you. Giorgio stopped buying plane tickets for independent models (and reimburses them after they shoot), and he claims the expenses at the agency if the model is a no show. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gonzo did the same with Shi and her agency dropped her for it.

Maybe they got their money back on the plane ticket. Maybe.

But still leaves a sudden hole in Gonzo's shooting schedule, with driver, model liaison, director, MUA and male talent all scheduled only to be stood down unless they can kidnap/rustle up a local model at short notice.
