If performers have given consent and laid out beforehand what they are comfortable with then that's their business. LP and other producers need to show and demonstrate that is the case.
My question to TheVulture: Do you feel this was the case here?
JayJams, you are attacking OP with subjectivity which isn't helping matters.
Well, what is very strange about this incident is that it happens about halfway through the scene. So Freddy has been fucking Natasha for ages by this point. There isn't any non-consensual element to the scene apart from the language Freddy uses here. Natasha for her part is in doggy position and waiting for Freddy to fuck her when he says it and she looks a little confused by it (understandably) but that is all. Bear in mind also that she gives a very enthusiastic performance throughout the scene (saying "Yes!", "I love this!" etc.), which only serves to make Freddy's actions all the more weird.
Much like they do generally (in my opinion) both Freddy and Dylan (but particularly Freddy) were very verbally domineering throughout the scene, telling Natasha what to say, sort of belittling her a bit in my opinion, just acting very egocentric in general. It's something I have come to expect from them and did make me wary of buying the scene as I don't like male porn performers like that (I want the girls to be the stars of the show and to be allowed to show their natural slutty side without being dominated or overpowered physically and/or verbally). It felt a bit to me like they didn't like the fact that she was enjoying herself and thus felt the need to always make it more "edgy" and uncomfortable for her so they were the dominant forces in the scene. I thus can only assume that was what was going through Freddy's mind - perhaps a combination of "She won't like this" and "Here's how I prove I'm still the boss" etc.
So there's no real sense that it crossed any pre-agreed boundaries, although I would certainly be surprised if it was the case that Natasha was explicitly advised before the scene that Freddy would use that line. Only really the performers or director (or Giorgio perhaps) could answer that and my guess is that they will choose not to.
For my part I'm not sure if I think it's better or worse that the line appeared in an otherwise consensual (albeit male dominant) scene than if it appeared in a scene that was given an obviously rape-y premise (except to say that I would never, ever go anywhere near such a scene) but the bottom line is that I never want to hear that kind of rubbish in a porn scene and Freddy is now blacklisted from my porn buying (he was going this way because of his ridiculous ego anyway, to be honest). The scene for me is now essentially useless just because I know that line is in there, which is perhaps more of a "zero tolerance" line than most porn consumers would apply but there you go. [As an aside, the scene also suffers from the camera hyperactivity I've raised in another thread so it was up against it from my point of view even without this]
I would very much welcome Giorgio's comments on the matter, which is why I addressed my original post directly at him. Whether he knew about it is largely irrelevant - what I want to know is what he thinks of it now that he knows about it and whether it is likely to appear in future scenes. To wit, is it "fair game" or does he agree that it would be a good idea to insist that his male performers don't go down this route?
I would also love to know what either Natasha or any other female porn stars make of it. Has it happened to them (ie others)? What did they think? If not, what would they be likely to think?
To others who haven't seen this scene, my question is very simple - if this did appear in a scene that you liked what would you think? Good thing? Bad thing? Utterly neutral/indifferent?
In my opinion it is a worrying development but I will say that I stopped being surprised about new unpleasant elements in porn a long, long time ago. In many ways porn is much, much better than it was about 15-20 years ago but in many ways this progress has also come at a price.
