After that, everything seems kinda tame.
"after that everything seems kinda tame"
my experience too. Max Hardcore raised the bar for extreme kink in (relatively) mainstream xxx in a way that (imo) no other director in modern xxx history has. he was one of a kind and genuinely deserves an xxx sainthood for his huge contributions to the field
other directors before or since always moved slowly and incrementally, but Max was always utterly fearless in his art. his scenes hitting the shelves were like tabs of acid dropped into the shallow and superficial 1990s/2000s xxx party punch
and no-one thinking or talking about Max Hardcore should forget the huge contribution of the models either.
Max couldn't have done *anything* he did without the talent of his models (many of them every bit as fearless as he) constantly trying to push the boundaries of each scene futher than the last
no Kelly Wells, no Catalina, no Jamie lynn hart, no candy cotton (and all those other incredible models who shot with him again and again), no Max Harcore. it's that simple. they are heroines all
another aspect of his contribution that gets overlooked is his insane-but-genuis styling for the girls. a lurid technicolor mix of 1950s teeny bopper, backstreet pole dancer, bettie page pinups, asian prostitute, etc, decades before 'cosplay' ever becamme a thing
it's always struck me as niche 'missed goal' that no fashionista with an interest in xxx chic has started a shop on etsy etc (called 'Chez Max!' or something) that specialises in sourcing the kind of costumes Max relied upon for his kitschy aesthetic, to sell to all the millions of smallscale xxx content creators in camgirls land searching for off-beat fuckwear.
that particular and meticulously curated styling was every bit a part of Max's trademark style as his extreme acts
the strappy platform heels, frilly ankle socks, tight cutesy crop tops, micro mini skirts, plasticky kids jewellery and the non-waterproof 1980s disco makeup (makeup by 'Max Fucked-Her' designed to melt on contact with all bodily fluids).

there are rave stores (more tuned to the dancefloor than the xxx set) that get close (dollskill for example), but not a one-stop shop specifically created for and pitching to indie home xxx creators. there should be
