Getting confused lately with my loyal GFX porn shopping: Sheer vs. Pornbox seem a mess to me.
I know it's partly different owners, with main shareholder being the same, but what else is an advantage with Sheer for porn users?
Big minus for me for sure is no gif-tool.

It started when I decided to stock up my DAP scenes collection, but trying to save some money. That was the point I finally switched from TKT payment to studio subscriptions party.

I have fellowing studio subscriptions apart from my almost 10y old recurring PB subscription currently:
AGO: I am subscribed to AGO on Sheer and re-newed that subscription just a 3rd time because it allows me to check out no-holds-barred (NHB) DAPs without spending tickets.
NRX: I recently also subscribed twice to NRX on Sheer, but stopped subscription in-between.
VK: Just a few days ago subscribed to VK on Sheer, but seems they allow less downloads there than I would get on Pornbox. Strange!
EKS: I miss about 20-40 EKS DAPs from mainly 2023 and just subscribed now, but via Pornbox this time, hopeing the old system gives me better survey and value.

What is Sheer?
Can't even find it on a Google search.

WTF its somehow since days not possible to un-subscribe for these 2 studios!
Sheer does seem to have much more bugs than Pornbox.

Will quality producers eventually transition completely to sheer? I for sure do not want to miss my favorite directors, but multiplatform customship is messy!

I prefer the Pornbox platform but can see younger generation would be interested in the Sheer style of viewing.

Worst is Sheer doenst work as good as pornbox. It's completely consumer-unfriendly! How is it even possible you can subscribe but not un-subscribe or terminate subscriptions?!

I don't understand the ownership difference, but my pornbox bought scenes are also bought on Sheer automatically. I have never bought a single scene on Sheer, but all the ones I bought on PornBox are already part of my Sheer library.

That's a good thing because that means your purchases are saved on both platforms. In case one site is temporarily down, you can look up your videos on the other while you wait for the first site to go back online.

Subscriptions are different. If I subscribe to AGO on Sheer I can only access those scenes on Sheer, but not on Pornbox. However if I subscribe to a studio on Pornbox I believe you can access those scenes on Sheer too.

I also noticed Sheer has some scenes that say they are not allowed in your country, but you can watch them fine though Pornbox for some reason, and are locked on Sheer even if you have the subscription. Although I'm not sure, but if you own those scenes, they can be accessible on both platforms. At least I think that's the case, I just haven't checked for sure.

Other than that, Sheer seems to have more bugs, the site is unreachable at certain hours of the day when it seems to be completely down, and sometimes downloads get ridiculously slow sometimes too. Not to mention the search functions are very difficult to deal with because search terms can be very broad sometimes, and the results too.

Pornbox is far superior in terms of being more user friendly because of clickable tags, and you can get more precise searches through Pornbox. Another advantage of Pornbox is how you can organize results by various metrics like date of purchase, or date of release which you can't properly do on Sheer.

Good news is that if you block a studio on Pornbox I believe it gets blocked on Sheer as well, which helps Sheer in the sense that Sheer has a cleaner experience without all the junk that you constantly have to deal with on Pornbox.

I hate OF and I have never spend a single dollar on that site, but when it comes to looks it seems it is a very similar look to Sheer. Except Sheer has real porn, so Sheer is more like the ideal version of what OF should be, but never will.

That said, I obvioysly prefer Pornbox presentation and navigation because I am used to it and it gives me more presicion when I browse or search the site, but it is nice to have both options available.

I was subscribed to AGO through Sheer, but my subscription was cancelled all of the sudden maybe because my card had no funds, but I will be subscribing again once I add funds to my card.

Indeed, Pornbox is superior, also because they at least have some support.
I shall steer away in future from Sheer!


Btw, as far as I know ownership of Sheer is broader spread than that of pornbox. But maybe responsibilities are rather with new co-owners. And the in turn have no time to properly handle she site and dont want to spend any money on support at all.

There is nothing really wrong with Sheer. I use it for my AGO subscription and sometimes communication with studios works better there. It is just that Pornbox is better in some areas.
