The new scene recycling trend - ideas?

Postby backflipman » Tue Sep 19, 2023 5:31 pm

Many users have probably noticed that there are some scenes rereleased by studios that were already released years ago. For example NF Studio and RPSN Studio just reupload old scenes, I guess it's to reach newer members of the site that haven't gone through all the studios or may have missed some scenes.
LTP has taken it to another level, creating a new studio Anal-Teens and rerelease the videos there (I think somebody mentioned the videos are even mirrored). VK Studio has recently also started releasing old scenes, for example the latest https://pornbox.com/application/watch-page/532814 .

The difference here is that the scenes weren't originally posted on this site, but as a Xvideo Red user you can find them in the Myteenass channel. Also some scenes of this period were produced for or distributed by Firstanalquest as well.

For regular users this may be annoying and feel a bit unfair. You see a new released scene and expect it to be new, but you are actually getting ripped off or pay for something you could get way cheaper. As some studios seem to struggle to survive or may want to make a few extra bucks, I can also understand their motivation.

My initial idea was to take the Anal-Teens approach but in a different way. If some studios want to make some money of older scenes they could dump it in some kind of an archive studio and work with a subscription based method then. Even for long time or even gone studios (I guess the PB site just manages them and gets the income) this could be a way to make some money from scenes nobody would buy otherwise. For example I was thinking of Giorgio Grandis GG Exclusive scenes. Many of the scenes are really good and I bought quite a few of them because the price is just 1 tkt, getting all video costs 349€ though and other members maybe don't take the time to go through old videos or want to spend tkt on them. If I could spend like 20 tkt for a 1 month full access I would have done it immediately.

Then there are studios like Sineplex CZ or Sineplex SOS I don't know who runs or owns them or who gets the profit of the sales, but the studios are basically extinct and the scenes are some years old now, getting access to the library though for a subscription base would be very interesting, going through and buying old scenes for your hard earned tkt probably is not especially for a new user. And even for Gonzo they could do it with scenes released before 2018 and get some money from the subscriptions for scenes nobody would buy otherwise. There are many other studios that could take the same approach, also VK Studio has really good scenes similiar to the scene I posted above with rare models or one-timers.

So yeah what do you guys think of that idea? It would be a way for producers to make some money from old content without ripping off or deceive members. And for some members and new members that might be very attractive. Would it be too much for the webmasters or too complicated to handle more subscription based studios though?

Yes, you are correct.

When I considered the complaints made about PBB's scant content, I had this thought.

PBB will have millions of scenes when none of us are around and will be able to charge $99 a month for a subscription package that includes millions of scenes that no one will ever be able to see in their whole lives.

Your method is simply a condensed version of my ideas.
It will generate revenue, and many viewers desire volume.

All scenes must go there after a certain amount of time has passed.

The trend actually seems to try and sell the regurgitated old scenes for more money than they were sold for in the first place. Whilst I would welcome an 'archive' section, where studios can keep re-releasing the same scenes every day without cluttering up the place, I suspect it's not going to happen. My worry is that studios are going to start deleting older scenes so they can put them back up for twice the ticket price.

Blocking those studios is key. If you still support them in any way, the practice will only continue to grow.

It must be hard for newbies watching porn - for the vets it's kinda easy - if you see for example a guy like James Brossman in a scene and he has a full head of hair you know something is off.

It's got to the stage where personally, as as something of a porn veteran, before I buy a scene I check the models other scenes to make sure it's not a duplicate and has been posted before.

I just wish there was a way to mark the scene as a re-release. The piss scenes have a tag on them in the top left corner, why can’t the re-release scenes say re-release on them so we don’t have to start going back to check we haven’t already bought them.

A tag should be the bare minimum.

To add to this, for those who own the original scenes, all re-releases should be 0tkt by default, as is usually the case when you want to "buy" the dry version when already owning the wet one.
