Beyond solo intros, I generally prefer to see models smiling at each other but doing their best to completely ignore the cameras. Not shoving cameras in models' faces as in the gif above obviously makes this easier!

I very deliberately used the phrase 'at least portrays' in my post that you quoted - as in acting as if this is the case. A good porn star is exactly like a good actor - they're doing their job well when they're able to allow the viewer to suspend disbelief and treat what they're seeing as real. Similarly good actors focus on the rest of the cast and what is going on in the scene, rather than breaking character to smile/wink at the camera.

I totally get that many are very happy to just view porn as an obvious show and in this context the sort of smile highlighted in the gif at the start of this thread is great to see. My personal perspective is that the best porn is something very different.

I misunderstood the thread initially, which is my bad.
