Also, before social security etc, the Catholic church did an awful lot for the poor or marginalised... I was one, I was adopted through the system... these were different times... I'm sorry, I can't go on with explanation... if it weren't for Catholic Church I wouldn't have been brought up in loving family, but I know that certainly didn't exist for those less Blessed.

I see it more that Christians/Catholics are able to distinguish between what is real/serious and what it not and react accordingly.
