Simple binary poll to run for a week (with option for non-binary Yes/No contributions).

Until recently (six months or so) I used to be able to negotiate and review the Models Thread effectively in order to find new models by just opening a thread with a name I didn't recognise and then proceeding to the trailer and buying the scene if I was interested.
There used to be maybe twenty or so new names daily and, since some I had spproved or dismissed previously, I could check out all new models appearing that I was not familiar with within ten minutes.

Now I don't really bother anymore. 120+ new PornBoxBot posts in the thread daily makes that impossible.
Most of it non-studio cam-girls content (which is particularly funny-ironic when you observe how aggressively the site bot moves to censor the name of any cam-girls site), which is not my thing. Need it be said, there other sites for that.

Igonoring the forum, I can use my pornbox account to opt in to only seeing studios I already know and expect interesting content from, but that is no use at all when the new model is appearing for a studio that I haven't opted in to (Alexa Mills recent fabulous debut for Galla Studios being a case in point).

So this made me wonder if other member who use the forum feel equally overwhelmed and increasingly disenchanted with the state of the Models Thread as is (Yes/No).

And if they have any tips for negotioating a path through that jungle of noise in search of new models until (if anything) something can be done to tame the non-studio content glut there.

It's a tedious task for some time age.

During the day, before the bot publish the releases, the models thread can be followed fine, but later after the new releases, some threads just "gone" and are hard to follow and surely some people just wait to a new release to still posting.

To be honest, would be unfair not publish the all new releases, even if a big % of them are amateur or cam models, furthermore, the forum has their own limitations, 40 thread per page, if each day there are around 100 or more so..

That why PornBox was developed, we are to much used to the forum to check the new releases. PB has a lot of features to keep a control of your content and models with the feed option or to subscribe to a model, even the new custom feature to have a personal search(you can add genres, models, studios, whatever), personally i prefer to check the releases in PB, more easy

It really should be that ZERO updates from the pornbox bot are posted in the forum. The forum, by definition is a place for DISCUSSION & exchanging of ideas. Not a place for ADVERTISEMENT, that is LITERALLY why there is a storefront!
The forum content SHOULD be 100% community/member provided, EXCEPT for direct interactions between ownership/management &/or studio owners/producers and previously said community/members.
That is how LITERALLY every other forum I've seen is, yes even the ones hosted/owned by a porn production company/corporate umbrella ownership....
People ARE not, at least SHOULD NOT be going to the forum for the daily updates. There is NO reason why their (models) scenes are posted in there. The very first post, hell the very first TEXT of a thread is the link to that models profile where EVERY SINGLE scene & B.S. B.T.S. is posted for potential customers to preview & purchase if wanted.
AND
On the models profile page just a few lines down is the LINK for said models FORUM DISCUSSION. There is no need what-so-ever for either page to invade/crossover to the other....
In the forum people wishing to discuss/comment/praise/critique a certain scene need only reference it.
Besides there is MORE than enough spamming going on with a few certain users non-stop copy & paste BBC/piss/request/bare feet/stockings/high heels bullshit......

My preferred way to browse this forum is actually using the Unread Content option as it stops me having to separately browse to multiple sub-forums. The more model thread updates there are the less well this works. So on reflection it would be nice to see a reduction in threads being set up for models whose content that I basically view as spam here compared to the proper studio output.

Should you be interested it is possible to set Porn Box Bot as a 'Foe' which means whenever you view a thread all of 'their' posts are reduced to a single line (with an option to click on to display a particular post if you want to see it). What this won't do though is stop model threads being bumped to the top of the list by PBB posting in them.

2) That this exists at all in a professional setting. Especially one that insists on continually raising prices. Yet these mistakes/oversights happen on a daily basis. Frankly it's embarrassing, at least it should be for ownership. Though that assumes one has any sense of pride in their work....

I know about the "foe" function, although I always forget about it any time it would be useful to me. Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to actually set it and see how much better the UI can be.....

The more scenes a model has the more useless the model thread is as a way to easily see if a particular scene is likely to be good or not.

@MackZatis This problem has been existed always but now, with the quantity daily of releases and a lot of active studios, they are more noticeable. Same problem with the "tag system", i guess they have too much volume to handle without a enough support staff.

Thats why users report in the forum about wrong things.

@Ultra-gape you suggested the "foe" function but as you said: That's not avoid the fact of see how the models thread have a lot of updates.
In pornbox, in the chat area, you have the possibility to chat with the "user/support" Box Support like in the pic or displaying your profile section, you will find the "Support" link that open you the chat with Box Support



There was a time on existed a subforum called "legalporno" if i'm not wrong, where they posted a new thread per scene. This thread were linked to each scene, i remeber that when someone searched a particular scene in the main page of legalporno, under the trailer appeared the posts of the scene's thread published in that subforum, literally as you described.

Later, for whatever reasons(to be honest i dont remember them but i think they explained why), they removed that subforum, removed the comments sections per scene and they incorporated the current bot making posts in each model thread. As i just said, this idea looked fine because there weren't 120 releases per day. I guess they could develop this feauture, but is up to them

I guess you're right it may be possible to report mis-tagging via the Support link. I'd much rather be able to do it in a similar way to the Suggest button to add additional models or tags.

I agree regarding comments per scene on scene page. It's how everyone else does these things. It's simple and effective.

Also would be helpful if (as several other have suggested, maybe even you) to add the "like/dislike" or "thumb up/thumb down" to each scene. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see that implemented. XXX replied to such suggestion, "you already have a "fav" button......".
To which I had to reply and explain the difference in the 2 features and their intended purposes. The reason I doubt we will ever see it is because it would help inform the customer, and hinder a studio's ability to make sales based on false/misleading/outright lying tag's & titles.
But there is fault in thinking that way (which is how I've seen PB act time & time again). They might actually be LOOSING sales because of such tactics. Customers have major doubts (rightfully so) when it comes to content in scenes. With price increases they are more cautious than ever with purchases, but if they knew for sure that said content WAS in said scene, they would not have such held reservations about "x" scene and more likely to purchase.

Re. the impact of comments on sales I think it could work both ways as you say. There are scenes with have very positive comments buried on this forum but users just looking at the scene page in Pornbox would be totally unaware of. Were these comments prominent on the page then I'm sure sales would go up.

I'm just catching up with this thread now that it has closed any wanted to say thanks to all l who contributed a vote and/or an opinion on the subject. Much appreciated feedback that one may hope may lead to a change of Pornboxbot policy.

As for the conclusions, it's an obvious *landslide* vote of discontent (9 out of 10 unhappy) with the way The Models Thread is currently failing to function as thread for members discussion (as it previously did well) as a result of deluging and diluting it with 120+ PornboxBot posts daily (the majority of which is camgirl non-studio content, in which most members have no interest).

To lay my cards on the table, I decided to make this a poll as I've become so completely fed up with it (after five years) I have stopped using it as I used to, to keep up with other members' commentaries and feedback about the models and their scenes and to find new models shooting for new studios by reviewing each new name.

I either don't bother posting anymore, I just search names of afvourite models and if they have released nothing new then leave.
Or (as today) I post info about new models who I have (and I have to say it) found on other sites, because I would never find them here since it has become such a mess.

As for options to resolve this (If the forum admins want to, in view of the overwhelming results of the poll for a resolution), the comments below I agree with entirely (thanks to Misangrenega and MackZatis).

The simplest and neatest solution would be to give PornboxBot its own section thread (so we have Discussions/Models Thread/PornboxUpdates/Studios). That would keep The Models Thread purely for feedback between members and models and studios, and anyone seeking updates (which everyone gets in the Pornbox feed anyway) via the forum can drop into the PornboxBot thread and see every update there in the same way they do in their feed.

I think (for democracy's sake) this specific potential resolution needs another poll of forum members to see if it has the support of a large majority of members who use the forum, which I will do this week. And therein could lay a mandate for a change of the way PornboxBot submits new releases to the forum.

It's funny that I just stumbled on this thread. Without knowing it's existence, I created another thread which has a similar isubject matter and that's the flooding of (new) shemale and gay performers in the model section (viewforum.php?f=104) by PornBox bot. 9 out of 10 times, the thread title of the performer (especially since shemales use women's names) does not indicate whether or not it involves a transexual performer or a gay performer. I too used to scroll through the models section on the hunt for new performers (women!) but I a) can't keep up with porn bot any longer and b) I can't be bothered to open a model topic dozens and dozens of times only to find out it's a big dick shemale performer or some gay fucking some other hairy gay raw in the ass. It takes away all joy and forces you to only use PornBox with al it's filters, which, will leave out the possibilty to stumble on a rare gem. Now that you mentioned all the cam models, you could also thirdly mention all the direct transferred from xvideos/xvideos/red "tube studio" performers who'll never will perform in bigger studios companies/ LP affiliated companies. They're also cluttering the model section (viewforum.php?f=104).

I'd be interested to know all of your opinions in the thread I created for this similar issue that essentailly comes down to no customization/filters for the model section of the forum where all performers are just put on one big pile of shit.
