Ukraine fatigue

Sorry if this is similar thread to Mariupal.

However, unfortunately, to me, it looks like news fatigue is setting in here in the west.

This is so sad. I have been working on my houses exterior past week, & I've seen many poor souls walking aimlessly up & down the road. Many of them are single women, many, women with kids... the odd couple with kids.

I just wonder what the future holds for these poor people. I'm sure there must be a converted large building near me that beds have been set up & communal washing facilites | soup kitchens arranged.

No western government can, in fairness, be expected to have been prepared for this situation.

I feel so sorry for these people. They are not going to want to live like this for long, & the host countries people, many of the more fickle ones at least, will just start seeing them as a burden.

Its very bleak & sad.

I'm thinking of opening my home up for a family, but you have to weigh so much up as to whether it would work out.

You are very kind - even just to think about it. :)
Still ofc you have to secure yourself and your property also.

Ideal would be if gvt pays rent and refugees are there on gvt costs, i.e. risk is shared, Because you still have cultural risk, have less space etc. But culturally and in human terms it can be very fruitful for both sides ofc.

Oh, they're always full of 'virtual signalling' shit, it'll have to be a personal realistic decision...
