I am sure this has been asked before but having looked at the 'most popular models' list I was intrigued as to how these are ranked? is there some kind of complex formula or is it purely the model who has achieved the highest number of purchases on a rolling basis? Help:) x

Every scene at this website shows how many views it has so far. And that's probably what decides how popular the lady is.

Unless they changed something, It is strictly based on scene purchases but then they use some secret formula to devalue the scene as time passes. I still don't think they have worked out all the issues. The other issue is what do they do when the scene reaches a free status do they stop counting the downloads (which analogous to purchases) then. I think that is how Abby remains on the popular list her scenes came out when LP was experimenting with pricing so all her scenes cost 1 Ticket and they have been free almost 2 years. Not trying to say anything bad about Abby just pointing out some issues with popular list. IMO the monthly popular breakdown is most accurate as I would hope when any devaluing happens it happen to the entire month around the same time. I would be cautious to look for any long term trend. I would suggest monthly or at most 3 months from current date.

The views mean absolutely nothing other than how many people visited that scene page to most likely watch the trailer. It is just a visitor counter like on most website. Visitor counter are only good when trying to drum up advertising dollars for your content. Also for metrics like when people mostly visited your site but it doesn't sell your product. Before LP decided to remove the purchase/downloads counter you could see the huge difference between actual purchases and views. Sometimes upwards of tens of thousands with few purchases/downloads.

Anyway that is what I was able to gather when LP staff or owner would respond to my inquiries.

Is LP not a lucrative site then? i appreciate there are pirates etc but even accounting for that is it not a money spinner? Obv a porn lovers paradise but its surely not run out of the goodness of heart? I am prob wrong! xx

I'd say that the number of views matters a lot from the point of view of a porn-fan. Because it shows how many other porn-fans, besides you, are interested in the lady and her sex with the guys.

The purchases and the money are internally important for the website owners. But I don't see why they would want to show their own internal interests to porn-fans, instead of giving you a clue that many other guys are interested in her too, which means that she is good to watch in a good debauch.

I can't speak for anyone but myself in saying this, I open the page of every scene that LP releases because I'm a fan of there product and I'm curious about the models. So my one view does not go your assumption of interest in the model. It goes to my curiosity of the scene, so I believe your assumption is flawed but I can only speak for myself assuming that I can't be the only person that does this. If you want a way to foolproof to measure member interest in a scene LP would have to add a like button to the scene metadata. So after I open the scene page I can simply click Like which records my interest in the scene, model or fetish. It would be up to LP to figure out the meaning. Just please don't also use a DisLike button which creates another problem unless you only allow people that purchased the scene to use the DisLike button.
These are my best recollection of a scene numbers that I was curious about member interest (only 12-15% actually purchases scene that they viewed):

view-------: 35,000
another scene
download: 13,000
view-------: 102,000
When I was trying to sing LP praises on social media to anyone that would listen for the greatness of LP especially to DP fans the push back I got was:

• What is attestation?
• Why no popular North American models on LP?
• The women are attractive but who are they?
• Why do they charge per scene?
• Why is it so expensive?

As a porn-fan or member the views would mean nothing to me if the people that viewed it didn't like it enough to purchase the scene. The reason I say this is, what makes LP so unique to me is that every scene and model stands on her own based on purchases. So if you really like model A but she doesn't sell then model A most likely won't appear in anymore new scenes. Also global genres fall under this approach for the most part like lesbian vs hetro or slender vs fat or 100% Pussy vs 100% Anal after that it gets a little more difficult to predict why people buy scenes since LP mixes the fetishes. Anyway, I can rant on forever but I won't.

I didnt say that, I only said that many scenes dont pay back the investment needed to shoot them and the amortisation for investments already done long ago.
Some scenes pay really very well of course. Sure it is a much a business to make it going. But at the same time when download figures still were there, it also showed to committement of the people involved just to shoot good porn without haveing the sales rate of each and every scene in mind. So much also about the ticket system.

The reason for this big difference between the number of views and the number of purchases is probably the fact that most people visiting Legal Porno are from Pakistan, India, Algeria, and Egypt, rather than from Europe or USA (according to Alexa.com). Most people visiting this website probably can't afford to purchase the scenes. They only view the trailers and screenshots.

But the inability of many visitors here to purchase the scenes doesn't in any way discredit their interest in the women. Their views of the trailers and the screenshots are a genuine indication of how attractive these women are for men in general.
