I've actually lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for a number of years, and I'm very familiar with what you say.
I agree that what you say is true. I have no argument with it. But I think a lot of people in western countries forget the role their own governments play in this. Because Saudi Arabia does what it does with the support and silent approval of the US government and its NATO allies. They all weapons and goods to Saudi Arabia. And there is no talk at all about economic sanctions and attempts to isolate the regime.
There a lot of political hypocrisy in all of this, not just among politicians, but even among ordinary people, who approve of what their own governments do and don't think much about it.
And I agree that you can have unethical or even evil laws. Many Americans with African heritage would probably say legal slavery in USA was evil, even though it was legal. That's why you need to think independently and consider what's ethical and unethical, regardless of the laws.
