How do you catalogue your collection?

Postby netzerkaiser » Sun Aug 07, 2022 6:42 pm

I used to do it using various external HDD's.

I have one for France, one for Hungary, one for Czech, two for Russia | Eastern bloc, two for USA, & one for Europe other, which would be dominated by Romania, then Italy & Spain.

Then within them I had it neatly organised thanks largely to Eurobabeindex.com, about 5 years ago my organisational skills were decent. E.G. my Hungary drive would have subsections like 1995 - 1999 | 2000 - 2002 | 2003 - 2008 | 2009 - present day, with individual folders for the ladies.

But the last couple of years, I've just joined sites for a year or two & downloaded by site, & organised by site. Lets face it, there are only 4-6 crucial sites... this site of course being Alpha.

Mind you, thats just theory. I get the membership & then forget to do anything mostly.

Downside was | is no backups. I 'lost' my Czech drive, painstakingly put together, for two years. Thankfully a RAID controller replacement fixed the issue.

I thought we'd discussed this pretty recently so I just had a search, and I was remembering a discussion from May:

So I use Plex to catalogue my collection but not every single scene, only those I deem really worthy of the effort.
I have seperate libraries on Plex for girl-girl, glamcore, Tushy, hardcore, hardcore xxx+, ultimate models and collections (all mirrored in 4k and 1080p libraries)
For the latter two, I edit 4-6 scenes into a single 3-6 hour file.
For almost every movie the process begins with colour correction in Adobe Premiere, followed by adding chapter points where necessary throughout the scene (or collection of scenes).
Each one is added to Plex alongside an xml file created for the AvalonXML plug in which allows me to add custom genre tags, alongside hosting my own actor thumbnails. This means, for each scene, you can click on a genre link or model and see what other scenes I have featuring them.
I try and select, or create, a nice thumbnail and background art for each file, add in a trailer and any behind BTS files as extras.
Quite an intensive process but the result looks great and the time spent colour correcting means a lot of my scenes look significantly better than the originals. The whole thing has been as much a quest to perfect the process as it has anything else tbh!
