Arranging your pornographic collection: by lady or site?

I started creating a proper collection around 2012, based on

1 country of origin
2 year of entry

I created all these folders & subfolders on an XP machine that allowed for a picture on the folder, this facility seems to have been lost on later versions of Microsoft versions.

Now I think, though its great to have original folders of models, its better to have your collection by studio or site, e.g. NRFTA or GG, or Buttplays or Gapeland & so forth.

Certainly post 2010's... before this probably better by model when focus was more on DVD's than internet...

Mind you for something like Gonzo or LP CZ I'd still prefer go by model...

But for collections like Teenswantblack I'd prefer go by site.

Also, its just not simple. And I realise its not confined to this site & its offerings, but what I state is probably now so obscure that very few readers would even know what I'm talking about. So for example, I'd prefer to gather together under one umbrella the videos I have for Robert Rosenburg's Al Caporno stuff, because it reflects a specific time in Czech porn history, about 2006, yet I'd also rather keep under the same umbrella the entire Asstraffic collection, because of the seamless progression through the years there. But as I say, for something like LP Gonzo, I'd prefer go by model. Certainly RE: USA models, for whatever reason, I go by model always, never site. I can't explain any of this.

I do it by site. I used to do it by model, but it was too messy. By site seems the bets way to go. I also like to number the videos by date, so I know which ones came first, and if the title does not have the name of the model I add it because it makes it a lot easier to know who is in the video.

If the site has a bunch of videos I can make different subcategories, like for example, pussy only, anal, BBC, and 1 on 1. But if it has both pussy and anal, I put it together with the anal only files.

I also recommend using Plex. That way you can stream your library from your desktop or laptop as a server to stream anywhere in the house, to all your TVs, your tablet, or your cellphone. You can also make channels there too and have them numbered or play them in shuffle.

Your idea of having 2 years blocks isn't bad. i tried that as well, and it is a pretty solid approach to divide the files from sites that you have many videos from.

Oh yeah, nice that you remember that, they are the ones that introduced me to everything when I hit puberty, so to me all those Lightspeed European girls are like the goddesses of the Parthenon when it comes to porn, they are the highest muses of the Olympus when it comes to hierarchy in porn history. In an ideal world I would have their full careers collection, but that's hard to do since they all used different names on the different sites for many years.

Yes, these are the folders where I use the pic as the icon. I use a program called FolderIco. After install it shows up as you right click a folder, allowing you to select any pic on your drive as the icon, very easy to use.

That's a valid concern. I've already purchased scenes that were later removed from Pornbox. Now I always download my scenes immediately after purchase to avoid this situation.

I used to have it by website e.g. Evil Angel, Brazzers, Jules Jordan, Thai Girls Gone Wild, Creampie Thais, Monger in Asia, HookUp HotShot, Ladyboy Gold, Asian Street Meat, etc etc....

But then I discovered PornBox and LPAV...everything is on PornBox from LPAV. I may still have running subscriptions on some of the above sites, but I no longer download them and organise them like I used to (lack of available free time).

I check out Evil Angel for their TS porn, JJ for their glamourous, big titted, big assed models wearing high heels...LPAV takes up most of the time that I use for porn (and quite rightly so).

Yes, these are the folders where I use the pic as the icon. I use a program called FolderIco. After install it shows up as you right click a folder, allowing you to select any pic on your drive as the icon, very easy to use.

Now I think, though it's great to have original folders of models, it's better to have your collection by studio or site, e.g. NRFTA or GG, or Buttplays or Gapeland & so forth.

I started around 2016 and did it than by girls.
But as my downloaded porn collection grew as opposed to my dvd collection of 15 years earlier I realized girls alone isnt a sufficient criteria anymore. I then started to sort them rather by LP studios and have sub-folders for the girls there. Later to make it easier I just edited the file name in a way it always started with girls name first.

But then around 2020 I started turning very interested in studios release policy and studios
management of girls. I then started creating groups according to release date. This however really created a big mess!

In 2022 I have returned to
1) studio
2) file title starts with girls name(s) always.
Ideally here I would save 2-5 copies if its multiple girls scene, one for each.


My main concern since that 35% price rise in April 2022 is that I haven't down-loaded the majority of my LPAV videos still. Instead I started a lot of streaming only. But what happens if sister/twin/mother-daughter scenes get deleted? And much more important: How stable is Pornbox? - I have to download much faster and more just after buying new LPAV scenes!!!

Does anyone have any idea how to have the old folder style that was with XP, where you'd have subfolders within a folder but with the simple style of your favourite picture of the model subject of that folder with her name underneath? For example I'd have a hierarchical set of folders, Czech/2007-2010/Samantha Jolie/... now at that Sam Jolie folder, as with all the ladies in the subset, I'd like to still have a selected picture of the lady, with the videos & pictures herein, with her name underneath. This created such a tidy splendid collection, but all you get with later versions of windows were these horrible panes. Anyone manage to retain the old style? If so please let me know. Thanks!

You just customize the folder under properties, but it looks like the program Yum mentioned does a better job.

I created all these folders & subfolders on an XP machine

i personally putted images and videos in folders too, but now not anymore, now what i do is put tags on the image & video's name

and then in search bar i search for the tag
