Why must anyone act "entirely respectfully" toward anyone in any profession? That certainly isn't the standard that I'm aware of at any business. From professional sports to McDonalds, people don't always say nice things to each other. You don't think that the women are capable of standing up for themselves and dishing it back?
Again, porn is a job that people are being paid to do, knowing what it involves and what kind of people they will be working with (note the repeat scenes from most of the women at LP).
You seem to be applying your personal emotional feelings about how you would treat your wife to how porn stars should get along with each other through extreme (and yes sometimes painful) sex scenes.TheVulture wrote:The only scenes I like are those where it's obviously apparent that a girl is having a great time. If there's any grey area then I'm out and naturally that is more likely to occur when there is rough stuff. That's just me.
That's great. But, why are you looking for that from a studio that makes sex scenes where that is the least likely to happen? There has to be at least two dozen other studios that focus on the type of porn you're talking about.

Not sure how its possible to criticise someone who is basically just being nice and caring about the welfare of women. I will agree with your points on the other thread and echo that there will be some pain in these scenes by virtue of the demanding acts LP specialises in and to pretend that there isn't is just naivete.

1. Some boys are immature and show off, including bullying, going too far and disrespecting women.
2. A weak or poor director could be intimidated or complicit in this.
3. Steroids and other substances can influence behaviour.
But also ...
4. The various LP studios in Prague seem to be professional, and therefore I guess they just want to get a good job done without drama and disruption.
5. The better boys can get regular work, provided they get along with everyone and don't fuck up by causing drama and disruption.
6. The girls must talk to each other about male talent they don't like, making it harder for studios to attract female talent willing to work with them.
7. In LP style scenes, the boys are largely interchangeable. So a bad apple can be replaced in Prague without much difficulty.
8. So why would studios continue to hire boys who cause them trouble?

McDonalds and other employers supposedly have written rules governing staff conduct (if only to make it easier to fire them), and employ managers to keep the minions in line. With freelance contractors like porn performers, each studio has to agree and police their own standards.
Professional sports won't work as an example IMO because competitors are paid huge sums to be fiercely competitive and sometimes deliberately to cross the line and be the pantomime villain; hence referees, penalties etc. and subsequent fines and bans. In professional porn the performers are supposed to be co-operating.
Agree that women generally can dish it back verbally and deliver pretty crushing sarcasm when they want to. But maybe could be physically intimidated on set.
Also there could be issues with porn stars making as you say extreme and sometimes painful scenes, including:
1. Makes it even more important that women should be able to trust the male performers to be careful and professional to get the women through the scene without unnecessary drama, pain or injury. I think/hope with LP Prague this usually happens. Although some of the hirelings in Mexico seemed to behave like rutting chimps.
2. If a female performer is the only woman on set with multiple male performers and maybe a male camera operator/director, that could potentially be very intimidating and inhibit her from "dishing it back" if pushed too far.

Porn is about creating and capturing amazing looking sex. It stands to reason that "people getting on with each other" would be a key constituent in that process.

LP scenes include spitting in girls mouths, choking, slapping, hair pulling and extreme penetration.
It stands to reason that the people comfortable doing that are not Rhodes Scholar gentleman.

I have noticed. Those things are fine as long as the girls are happy with them.
Those are not the things I'm talking about here.
You're either missing the point or deliberately misinterpreting it to prove your own point. Either way it's all getting a bit long-winded and futile.

Nothing wrong with caring and being nice. But, that isn't all he has been doing. He has been putting other people down.
I'm all for opinions. And I don't even really mind if people want to put others down in the process. It just might change the way I respond. A little criticism in return is fair, right?avanfurwet wrote:People in any situation won't always be respectful or even nice, obviously. I've seen people mistreat each other worse than any rival sports game at regular, white collar office jobs. When people are together only because they are paid for a job, they aren't always going to be nice and get along. They're there to do a job together. Not to necessarily become friends.
I see this as similar to people getting upset about Mike Tyson's crimes. The people watch Tyson fights and pay hundreds of millions of dollars in total for him to perfect beating someone up. Then, those same people get upset when it turns out that he beats people up in his free time also? The whole premise of porn is... not-gentlemanly. Look at the tatted up, pseudo-gangster dudes working in it. I just don't understand wanting people to do extreme porn and then being disappointed by a lack of manners. It's not a good-mannered thing to be doing in the first place.
laura. wrote:Seriously you can't use Tyson as an analogy, surely? Him beating up his opponents in the ring is not the same as beating and sexually abusing his ex-wife, one is a consensual agreement by two athletes, and the other is clearly not. That's making an assumption that Boxing fans who pay to watch a fight are by default neanderthals who shouldn't object to a little wife beating - or am I reading you wrong?

laura. wrote:While we are on this topic I just want to give an example of how I think rough(ish) porn should play out and that's the new Mina scene which I have been on and off watching while doing other less horny chores For a start it has Mike in it who as I said I love and hate in equal parts as well as Luca who can be a little ott at times also plus Ian and Christian. Mina is clearly new to this and a little shy and nervous which in itself is endearing and she is incredibly beautiful but that's not my point. My point is that you have a bunch of actors and a director who are aware of her situation and act in accordance to it. They act patiently and respectfully and work her up at a pace she can handle, and in turn enjoy.
The sex becomes more frantic and more animalistic only when she is up to it. The anal penetration is deep and yes you see some discomfort but you also see pleasure as she relaxes along with her sphincter which if you know what it feels to have a dick in you arse (i do), is a physical relaxation reaction to force and the alien feeling of having something unnatural up there. Am i turned on by her discomfort? yes, a little but not in some twisted reverse misogynistic way but more because i know what that feeling is like and i know that despite that discomfort, there is pleasure also. The point I am getting at here is that rough porn is possible without the gimmicks and the 'big i am' attitude that often pervades in porn. The pain/pleasure dynamic is later qualified by the tender and passionate kissing between Mina and Mike and by that stage she is on fire and her passion oozes as she becomes relaxed ad is really starting to enjoy herself. Kind of the love/hate Mike thing in minutiae.
Whenever i enjoy rougher porn its when the roughness is derived from something organic and real and not through brutishness and 'lets see how far i can shove my penis down her throat before she gags' bravado
Anyways I have a wedding to go to in the morning and Mina to enjoy
