slow downloads

in prime time downloads is slow,250-300kb/sec.1,7gb scene takes over 1 hour,and i can say its not my conection that is slow,i have fast speed.

250-300 Kb/s = 20-24 Mb/s - This is not a bad speed for todays standards (http://www.netindex.com/ - global broadband download speed is 16.8 Mb/s)
In the future we are planning to deploy worldwide CDN, which should improve local download speed for worldwide users. Right now I am afraid this is all we can offer with existing provider and technical solution.

I assume he is talking about KB/s (Kilobytes) and not Kb/s (kilobits) or it would be really slow

And 250-350 KB/s = 2-3 Mb/s

I get personally pretty good speeds. Depends on time of the day when you download thought. But the Speed seems to cap to 1700 KB/s. You can download multiple files with 1700 KB/s each thought.

HI, just signed up, and I am finding downloads quite slow. I am getting about 200KB/s which is equivilent to 2.5Mb/s - half what i get downloading from other sites. Hope this is just a temprorary glitch, as there's so much great stuff to download!

Downloads are quite fast actually.
The website on the other hand is slow. (trailers are slow and all clip previews are very slow)

My speedtest.net stats are showing that my speed from Bulgaria to random Prague server is about 20 Mb/s, which devided to 8 is about 2.5MB/s and I''m downloading with 2300-2500 kb/s, so everithing is fine.

I too am having this issue. Any video takes at least an hour to download. And streaming? Forget about it. Just trying to get the video to play is a chore. It's like trying to stream a movie with dial up. Plays for 1 second, buffers for 5. It doesn't help that there is no quality selection.

I have seen some erratic speeds in the past, however, I just downloaded the 720p version of the Rita Rush scene to test the audio, took a little over 7 minutes to come through my end. Streaming on the other hand, as stuffwar said, forget about it. I have a 70 Mb/s down 10 up connection and it's unbearable on 720p, only works on the lower resolution for me, even then you can't skip ahead because it seems to just fuck up and restart. The streaming on this site needs major work imo.

Streaming is an issue we are working on, however I didn't have that BIG issues with it. Yes, sometimes it lagged, but I could skip and it would load again in seconds.
We are looking into it however.

I am downloading at high speeds all the time. Are you sure your internet is fast enough? There might be some localisation issue, I described earlier in this post.

Yes. I have have-speed Internet. All other downloads are pretty fast. This is the only site where the download speeds have become really slow.
