resizing public images

Since we can no longer use attachments probably for copyrights reason and / or reducing storage requirement can you please add a mod or custom bbcode to allow public image resize. The forum provider used "phpBB" only allows image resize through the methods below enabled by an administrator:

Can you please give the user the ability to resize the image by providing either the height or width or both dimensions.
Something like this (example of user defined resize):
BBCode usage :
[imgr {NUMBER1}x{NUMBER2}]{URL}[/imgr]

HTML replacement :
<img src="{URL}" height="{NUMBER1}px" width="{NUMBER2}px" alt="{L_IMAGE}" title="{L_IMAGE}" />

Thanks in advance for any help. Without allowing resize of public images the threads are unreadable with formatting issue problems and space utilized in the post !!!!

Tweaked attachment settings, attachment now do seem to work and also they resize to thumbnail automatically. Does it work for your ok now, or you suggest further improvements ?

I assume when we went to this new forum attachments were disabled but maybe its just me. I have no option to create attachments in my post so I cannot test the tweaks made to this feature. I'm assuming if we want to post pictures in our threads we can only use publicly available images and the few simple BBCodes(i.e. that are above our post edit window.

The first post was transferred from the old forum and you can see the attachments a few post below where I try and create another entry I no longer have access to using attachments and resort to using [img] tag which does not allow me to resize images

You are right, also per forum permissions needed to be updated. Can you do the attachments now ?

One more thing, is there anyway to remove the automatic new line after every attachment. For instance would love these two images to appear side by side.
