Hard-ware to manage 15GB videos

Postby joshuahunt » Mon Jul 03, 2023 6:28 am

Hi guys, I have a little technical question: I have a lot of analvids videos, but my Mac mini, M1 is not fast enough. I can see them smoothly, but even speeding it a little makes them freeze, even for a little seconds but they don't move forward without interructions if i want to speed up a scene, the video goes skipping from frozen screenshot to frozen screenshot. Not ideal for a kind of video where i want to have an idea of a scene moving fast. I don't want to buy a new computer altogether just to have more fluidity and I'm not an expert of alternative hardware, but is there a media box of some kind, to connect to the computer or to use directly, to see them better without spending some thousands of euros?

You should look into a media player device like this: https://amzn.eu/d/3Rqo9fg

It has 2 USB ports so you can dump your videos onto a USB drive. Then you have the option to connect the media player via HDMI to your computer (if it has a HDMI input) or your TV.
