ABBA is definitely one of the greatest bands of all time, along Bee Gees, The Who, Queen, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Supertramp, The Doors, Electric Light Orchestra, The Beach Boys, Bread, The Moody Blues, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Hollies, America, The Zombies, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Fleetwood Mac, The Yardbirds, Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Simon & Garfunkel, etc..
However I do love the 80s new wave synth pop and new romantics stuff like Pet Shop Boys, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, The Police, Teras For Fears, Culture Club, Wham!, Spandau Ballet, A Flock Of Seagulls, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Soft Cell, New Order, Bronski Beat, Kajagoogoo, Erasure, Simply Red, Eurythmics, A-Ha, Cutting Crew, etc..
They were all a thing before I was even born, but that doesn't stop me from appreciating their music.
From today I listen to Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Meshuggah, Samael, Children Of Bodom, Cradle Of Filth, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Finntroll, Eternal Tears Of Sorrow, Eluveitie, Norther, Kalmah, Bloodbath, Old Man's Child, Callenish Circle, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, In Flames, etc., and even those bands recognize the greatness of ABBA.
My favorite ABBA cover would definitely be Summer Night City by Therion:
