Pharisees

Postby netzerkaiser » Mon May 23, 2022 9:34 pm

I was reminiscing today over this old treasured edition of The Gospel of St John (in vernacular Italian) I'd left behind somehow on my travels 20 + years ago. A beautiful little book put together about 150 years ago from Cheapside or Blackfriars... that part of London...

& I realised the Timeless nature & Beauty of The Gospel of St John... that a True person today as anytime has to deal with the phonies, hypocrites, toe-rags of this world, who climb into positions of unworthy authority.

& it gave me a great peace to realise this is a Timeless struggle. You just have to keep fighting in The Time thats Given you.

Christianity is largely responsible for a lot of the shittiest leaders coming to power...for example Donald Trump, the others I'm not sure about the direct implications of Christianity but I am positive it had a large role in Trump's election. Religion is one of the most powerful tools that authoritarians use to brainwash the masses. Trump didn't even talk about Christianity (I truly am not convinced that Trump believes in anything other than personal gain), but he paid lip service to all the Christian stances on political matters because he knows his base

Trump's about as much of a Christian as Osama Bin Laden was, he's just cynically hustling the rubes, as he has done his entire life. Putin, on the other hand, seems to be a believer and is not exactly a great advert for Orthodox Christianity.

I think my point was, the same moral quagmire that exists now in all our lives, would have existed as long as people walked the Earth.

I'm sure I could've pulled out The Koran, The Tanakh, a Zoroastarian text or what not... but I'm ignorant of those, so I decline out of respect.

For what its worth, I'm no bible thumping clown, I fail to see anything but bland uninspired mediocrity in anything "St Paul" wrote.

and now REM? you want me to go back in time!

if I may, Losing my religion would be more appropriate according to your thread :D :

I did my christian action by sharing....not my bread but my girl's pics

So much stupidity in your post.

Amazing how a fool can believe the words you type.
