Ronaldo Luis Nazario aka R9 and all the brazilian R's.And Garrincha - biggest football romantic.

The Dutch/Ajax early 70' were also very good and funny and watchable and to a considerable degree revolutionary.

R9 Ronaldo is the best football player never to win a Champions League. In his prime, he was unplayable!

Thats a big claim. I'd almost turn it around & ask who were the best players to win the European Cup, but then I'm wrong here because one was a LEAGUE, the other a CUP, with all the luck involved at times.

From mid 90's European leagues were place to be,thats true,for the cream of the worlds players... but even then, did Baggio win Champions league? or, gulp... Maradona?

I don't think winning trophies signifies greatness.

However, I agree... Ronaldo was & still is, to me, the best non-European centre-forward to ever play in Europe, alongside the graceful gentleman that was Eusebio of Mozambique & Portugal.

Pele never played in Europe at all, I'd call him a pretty good footballer. Of course it's all change now that you have European football clubs which are bankrolled by oil rich Arab states with more money than they know what to do with.
