Caffeine addiction

Postby netzerkaiser » Tue Apr 26, 2022 8:33 pm

https://www.theguardian.com/food/2021/j ... to-give-up

This is a great article. I've fought this, this week, & you're literally in state of paralysis.

Decisions are slower... everything is slower.

& of course, the caffeine then wants the nicotine.

Then later in the evening the nicotine gets used to wanting the beer. The beer is actually (for me at least) probably the least addictive of the 3, but I recognise, the most dangerous | compromising.

I'm starting to think the 'harmless' caffeine is the chief protagonist of vicious cycle.

But to kill caffeine addiction, I reckon you'd need to take a weeks holiday with absolutely no aims except to loll around house doing sweet FA & ready to collapse into bed at given moment.

Like I said, great article:

I've been drinking decaffinated tea for a few months now and I can't say I've noticed any difference. I also gave up booze during the lockdown(s) and was expecting to feel a whole lot better physically but I carried on feeling as shit as ever!

Fair play to you. & thanks for comment. But my experience is totally different. Caffeine-less I'm constantly being hit by career decisions I might have poorly made aged 20-21 etc, & subsequent wasted years.

Really awfully traumatic.

I think you're on darned good path BTW.

You've cleaned the lot out, & beaten it all head-on. That can only be respected.

Used to drink gallons of coffee every day. Few years ago I changed my habits. Now I drink max two cups at work, and one after dinner at home (and that one only sometimes). Developed more and more into a tea drinker.

Thanks. Again its just an addiction we take for granted, if we're none the wiser. Thank you Yum yum for kind response.

After 48 hours, I feel great. So worth it.

Kick caffeine.

Nicotine, alcohol, will follow.

I must have been a real caffeine addict if you boys didn't feel a difference.

I'm just perplexed now how work-mates might find me, taciturn, laconic, not 5 jokes a minute...

I read recently Rommell could well have been christened the 'crystal fox' instead of 'desert fox' so pummelled up was he...

All good.

I drink about 3-4 cups of strong coffee every day. It has got to a stage where if I do not drink at least 1 coffee, I get terrible headaches during the day!!!
