I don't think that Gonzo studio directors have any meaningful real influence over the scenes. They can decide if there is going to be a dildo warmup sequence in the beginning or not, and if so what color the dildo is going to have. But that's about it.
The rest is already decided by xxx and his magic formulas based on sales statistics.

I actually disagree with OP, I haven’t bought a lot of Gonzo scenes lately compared to before. Not because of the action or directing but mostly because of the selection of models. I never refuse to buy a good DAP or a DAPbreakin' only because there is DP in that film.
