I would like to see themes be thing again.
I'm gonna use an example with cosplay.
There is a cosplay active discussion recently.
So I think its relevant
Back in the day, Gonzo tried a cosplay scene with Kira Thorn as Harley Queen
and Chris Diamond as The Joker.
And IMO they went to great length to produce it.
The makeup and the costumes looked better than expected IMO.
They got props, the whole thing
I don't know the true story behind the scenes,
but to me, it appeared like that movie tanked in sales.
And that's why we didn't got more of that.
They probably thought along the lines,
"all this extra effort and for nothing, no one was interested, all wasted."
I can buy that movie with free tkt and still haven't buy it.
Number one reason, the cuckold theme is an automatic skip.
For me, that killed the movie.
Number two was the trailer.
It puts too much screen time on Chris.
No offense, Chris is like S tier male actor, but porn is about the ladies.
And I don't know who told porn producers that
when doing cosplay it must be a joke. No pun intended to the joker.
Someone at porn, one day needs to do a cosplay scene,
Nolan style. He grabbed the Batman franchise, and took it seriously.
"How could batman exist, if it could be real.
Before him Batman movies were about selling toys,
it was a huge commercial for toys, lol. (Batman and Robin)
I don't know the statistic of cuckold scenes, but I can't imagine it being a dominant theme.
(That being said, I can't begin to comprehend how piss is as popular as it is)
So take my opinion as just that.
But IMO the thing that undid that scene, was the cuckold theme.
THAT BEING SAID.
I think low budget "cosplay scenes"
could be more down to earth characters.
Like Secretaries, School girls, Police Officers, etc.
