A person who is on proper HIV medications can be "undetectable" meaning they can not transmit it. So, an HIV positive performer could shoot bareback sex safely and not transmit. Of course, the partner should be informed and make their own decision. There are performers out there, especially in gay porn where HIV has been more common, that shoot bareback sex when they are able to provide full testing that shows them as HIV Undetectable.

The caveat with this is the person has to do it always. if you don't take them for a couple of days because you got lazy or something, your viral load can increase to the point you can transmit. So there has to be a high level of trust involved that the person is taking it since their last test.

In saying that, I am not sure if it was 100% confirmed she contracted HIV. That was a few years back when it all came out.
